With the January transfer window now open, Millwall will no doubt be looking to do some significant business over the coming weeks.

Sitting 11th in the Championship table, seven points adrift of the play-off places, the Lions will no doubt be keen to strengthen their squad this month, to give themselves a chance of breaking into the top six.

However, it is also worth noting that there is likely to be some outgoings from The Den before the window closes at the end of the month, with some individuals potentially hoping for a switch to pastures new.

Here, we've taken a look at two players who may be hoping for a move away from Millwall while the market is currently open.

Jed Wallace

With his contract at Millwall expiring at the end of this season, Jed Wallace is one who could potentially be on the move from The Den in January.

As exclusively revealed by Football League World earlier in the campaign, it is looking unlikely that Wallace will put pen to paper on a new deal at The Den, amid interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Brentford, Crystal Palace, West Ham, Burnley and Newcastle.

The chance to join one of those top-flight sides could certainly be appealing for Wallace, and given this is Millwall's last chance to receive a fee for such a quality player, a January sale could make sense for all involved.

One player who may well be desperate for a move away from Millwall over the course of the next few weeks, is Ben Thompson.

Having found himself somewhat in and out of the side last season, the midfielder has struggled for game time even more during the current campaign, making just a single appearance, coming on as a late substitute in the 2-1 win over Blackpool all the way back in August.

At 26-years-old, Thompson is at an age where he ought to be playing a regularly as possible, so you feel he will be keen  secure his exit from The Den this month, with those opportunities seemingly unlikely to come if he remains where he is.
