Millwall resume their Championship campaign this weekend when league leaders Leeds United visit The Den.

Neil Harris will be looking for a response from his side after three successive defeats before the international break.

After an unbeaten start in the first three games of the season, the Lions’ form plummeted to three consecutive league defeats - and there is an urgent need to arrest the slump heading into the league’s resumption.

The visit of Leeds is the best possible fixture for Harris and his side to have if they are looking to bounce back immediately following the two-week hiatus.

There could be a plethora of reasons as to why their recent form has been poor, from decisions made in the transfer windows and beyond that could affect the club in the immediate and distant future.

With that said, here are two decisions Millwall have made, that could come back to haunt the club.

A club-record £8million was recouped from the sale of the midfielder, but at what cost?

The 25-year-old was one of the standout players for Millwall last year and after one season in London, moved on to pastures new.

The money received was almost undoubtedly welcome, but there will be a void that needs filling.

Ryan Leonard has been recruited to replace the Middlesbrough man, but it remains to be seen if he can fill the boots of the box-to-box former Wolves man.

Ball to Jake Cooper, long pass up to Steve Morison to knock-down, rinse and repeat.

That is how the Lions played against a ten-man Swansea City side they would eventually lose to.

Being more flexible in his approach is something Neil Harris needs to do for different scenarios that may arise in games.

It was apparent the Lions’ usual style of play was not effective against a side with one less player, and not being tactically flexible in games could come back to haunt Millwall this year.

Teams know how they play now after last season’s surprise package finished eight in the league and not changing it up to surprise teams during games could be a bad move.
