Middlesbrough will be looking to have a positive summer transfer window as they aim to get themselves in the promotion places next season.

Boro came on strong once Chris Wilder had arrived but they fell short in the final stages and missed out on the play-offs in the end by a handful of points.

They're looking to use that as motivation, though, and it'll be interesting to see what sort of squad they put together this summer.

They may look to loan out some of their youngsters, too, so let's take a look at a couple who could benefit from such a potential arrangement...

Brad James

Goalkeeper Brad James suffered an elbow injury last season which hampered his progress after a good loan at Hartlepool United the year before.

Middlesbrough's goalkeeper situation might even pave the way for him to be more involved in the first-team, though you might think it's a bit early for that just now.

Even so, James looks a goalkeeper ready to be featuring for a Football League club in the coming season and Boro might be eager to try and get that sorted for him.

Jack Robinson

Robinson had a decent season on loan at Yeovil Town in 21/22 and this year coming could be the right time for him to get a step up into the Football League, once again on loan.

He is a young defender that is obviously still learning the ropes and coming up against seasoned forwards in League One or League Two could seriously help his development as he pushes to be more involved at Middlesbrough in the years ahead.

He's only 20 so has plenty of years left ahead of him.
