Leeds United remain in the hunt for promotion from the Premier League despite a devastating loss at home to Wigan this weekend.

The Whites threw away a lead to see the Latics take all three points at Elland Road, a result which saw Marcelo Bielsa's men drop into third in the Championship table.

However, former striker Noel Whelan appears confident of the club still getting themselves into the top flight, and he told Football Insider this weekend that he believes the club could well make a move on Manchester City to sign some young players, much like they have this season with Jack Harrison.

It's not a bad link to have in all honesty with the amount of talent City have in the squad, and even though Harrison has been inconsistent at times, he has still shown enough to be considered a good signing for Leeds this term.

Leeds will be hoping they can win promotion so they can utilise this link a bit more, and we at FLW think that it could well be a useful partnership going forward.

With that then, we took a look at TWO Manchester City youngsters who Leeds could look to sign during the summer...

Claudio Gomes

The French youngster looks to be one of the top talents at City at the moment, and first team exposure could be just what he needs to progress his career on.

Formerly of PSG, Gomes has all the talent in the world to go on and become one of the finest talents in the world of football.

Leeds would be getting a quality midfielder on their hands if they could sign him, and he'd be a brilliant piece of business for Marcelo Bielsa to sort out over the summer.

Adrian Bernabe

Despite only being 17-years-old, young Spaniard Bernabe is a product of the famous Barcelona youth system, and has all the potential in the world at first glance.

Bielsa is not averse to giving young players a chance if they are ready, and Bernabe might just be ready for chance at first team football next term.

A classy young player with the typical technique and touch of what we expect from the Spanish giants, Bernabe would slot in nicely for the Whites.
