It's been a long old season for Rafa Benitez' Newcastle United, who are still harbouring aspirations of a quick return back to the Premier League.

We've seen the impressive Brighton reach the top flight and it's now seemingly Newcastle's turn to get back into the glory land of the first division and it's going to take one more push to get there.

But the majority of Toon fans will admit that the squad will need to be improved over the summer months if the team are going to survive and there's going to be a little bit of pressure on the shoulders of Rafa Benitez to bring in the right players, something that hasn't been done so well in the past.

We've seen some real shockers move to the North East in years gone by and it's important that Rafa brings in players that are both going to improve and not harm team morale at the same time.

So with that in mind, here's the 2 Manchester United youngsters Rafa needs to send scouts to watch urgently...

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

It's been a poor season for Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who really grabbed the headlines following his string of appearances under Louis van Gaal last season.

But this campaign it's been a different story and he's really struggled for game-time under new manager Jose Mourinho.

The Dutchman might be best off leaving on a loan spell next season and where best to develop his game than at Newcastle United- a big club that probably won't be harming United's hope of getting the league title next season- a deal that would suit both player and club.

Axel Tuanzebe

Again, this is likely to be a loan move if any deal is agreed, with Axel Tuanzebe one of the most highly rated players we've seen come through the United academy in years.

The Congolese-born defender is a real unit at the back and like Fosu-Mensah, now needs some first-team experience under his belt.

Rafa will need a big squad next season if his side are to stay in the division and he could do far worse than bringing in the burly Tuanzebe, for whom the future looks seriously bright indeed.
