Derby County boss Gary Rowett will be looking to cut down his squad in the summer, but he will also want to add new faces as well.

There are a number of players at Derby who need to be offloaded as they are surplus to requirements at Pride Park, and other players need to be replaced as they simply aren't good enough.

Over the last few years Derby have spent big money on players in the hope of winning promotion, but splashing the cash hasn't got them anywhere as they have underachieved once again this season.

Gary Rowett's job is to cut the wage bill down this summer and bring in new players for low transfer fees.

One option is to use the loan market, as some Championship clubs have brought in some great players on loan this season, alternatively Derby could sign young players who aren't managing to push into first teams of Premier League clubs.

Here's TWO Manchester United youngsters that Rowett should send scouts to look at ahead of the summer transfer window...

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Timothy Fosu-Mensah has a handful of appearances for Manchester United to his name, but hasn't really been a regular in the side.

The Dutchman has just 2 Premier League starts under his belt since his debut for the Red Devils, which was a 3-2 win over Arsenal last season.

The majority of Fosu-Mensah's outings have been from the bench or in cup competitions.

In order to one day get into the Manchester United first team, the 19-year-old needs regular game time to develop which he isn't getting at Old Trafford.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah could benefit from a loan move away from Man United next season and Derby would be an ideal destination.

The Rams have been poor defensively in the final few games of the season, so reinforcements at the back would be welcome. Fosu-Mensah has looked a decent player when he has appeared for United, and being loaned out would give him the opportunity to become an even better player.

Axel Tuanzebe

Axel Tuanzebe has made his senior debut with Manchester United, but that remains his only appearance with for Jose Mourinho's side.

The centre back's debut came in the 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup back in January.

Since then, Tuanzebe hasn't managed to make another outing in a Man United shirt, so could seek a loan opportunity in the summer in order to get minutes on the pitch.

Derby's defence hasn't been great in the last few months and Gary Rowett might want to add a defender to his squad.

Many Derby fans feel a centre back is needed at the club, with supporters having mixed opinions on Richard Keogh and Alex Pearce.

Instead of spending big money on an established player, perhaps Derby should give Man United youngster Axel Tuanzebe a chance by taking him on loan.
