West Bromwich Albion are said to be interested in signing Watford striker Andre Gray this summer, as per a recent report by Football Insider.

The 30-year-old frontman is widely expected to depart Vicarage Road in the current transfer window and could well be open to making the move to the Midlands outfit.

Albion are said to be keen to bring in the attacker on either a loan or permanent deal as they look to add to their forward options.

The Hornets are said to have given Gray the green light to depart this summer if the right offer comes in and therefore he could be set for a fresh start with the Baggies after struggling to make an impact with Watford since joining for a substantial fee back in 2017 from Burnley.

Here, we take a look at TWO knock-on effects at West Brom if club strikes transfer agreement with Watford for Gray...

Albion could move to two up top

West Brom started with a 3-4-3 system away at Bournemouth in their opening game and could well revert to a front two if the deal for Gray gets over the line.

The signing of the Watford frontman would add to their existing striking options of Karlan Grant, Callum Robinson and Kenneth Zohore and could realistically cause Valerien Ismael to consider changing his system.

Starting a front two would provide more central options in the box to get on the end of crosses, whilst adding to the level of goal scoring threat that the club possesses.

In short, Gray's arrival could certainly switch up Ismael's thinking moving forwards.

Zohore to be sold?

There is of course also the potential for Gray to be being brought in to replace an existing striker at the Hawthorns and there are certainly reasons to suggest that Zohore could be one of the men to make way.

The Danish frontman struggled whilst on loan at Millwall last term and is unlikely to force his way into the starting eleven at present in the Midlands.

Having four forwards at their disposal seems like one too many for Albion and they could well seek to offload at least one if the deal with Watford takes place.

Zohore may well give his future a second thought if the 30-year-old arrives in the near future.
