Nottingham Forest are really looking to kick on in their search for a new striker.

Reports from Sky Sports' Lyall Thomas have claimed that the Reds are among the clubs interested in a move for Uche Ikpeazu this summer.

The Wycombe Wanderers striker enjoyed a decent campaign for the Chairboys last term after scoring six and creating five more during his 33 appearances in all competitions for the club.

Gareth Ainsworth's side ultimately suffered relegation to League One and that has led to significant interest in the 26-year-old's services with Middlesbrough, Derby County and Millwall also said to be keen.

Should a move to Forest materialise it could have a big impact at the club, so with that in mind, here are two knock-on effects that Chris Hughton's side will need to weigh up.

Lyle Taylor

If Nottingham Forest do make a move for Uche Ikpeazu, it could spell the end for Lyle Taylor.

Reports from The Mirror have claimed that Chris Hughton is willing to let the player leave the City Ground this summer with Stoke City among the clubs interested in a move.

Football League World have also revealed that Middlesbrough are keen on the player, and if Ikpeazu does make the move to the club then it could mean that the coast is clear for Taylor to move on after a disappointing season.

An end to other transfer links?

Nottingham Forest have been linked with plenty of strikers this summer.

Charlie Wyke is one player who has been linked while Blackpool striker Jerry Yates has also been linked with a move to the City Ground.

If Forest do make a move for Uche Ikpeazu then it may well end their interest in the other targets, with one new arrival likely to challenge Lewis Grabban for a starting spot next term.
