Leeds United rose back to the top of the Championship on Wednesday night thanks to a 2-0 win against Ipswich Town at Elland Road.

Middlesbrough, Sheffield United and West Brom all dropped points meaning Marcelo Bielsa's side sit top of the pile once again in what continues to be an impressive season.

The match against the Tractor Boys also saw the return of Kemar Roofe to his preferred striking role.

Tyler Roberts had been in decent form during the former Oxford United man's injury and so was forced out wide against Blackburn Rovers last weekend in order to keep Roberts in the team.

But against Ipswich, he was back up-front and back to his best.

Before his injury, Roofe had netted four goals in seven appearances under Marcelo Bielsa and had kept new signing Patrick Bamford out of the team before he too picked up an injury.

Wednesday night showed that the striker had not lost his touch.

He made a goalscoring return, showing good movement in the box to head home the opener in the 2-0 win and was a constant threat all night.

He also showed that he has not lost his lack of awareness or his creative spark, notching up two key passes whilst his 70% pass accuracy remains impressive for a striker.

One area that he could certainly work on is being caught offside.

It happened three times against the Paul Hurst's side and they boast one of the leakiest defences in the division.

In crunch matches, against more astute defensive sides, it could become a problem.

But Roofe has already proven many people wrong this season and having just returned from injury it is unlikely to be an issue for much longer.
