Leeds United are looking increasingly likely to send young midfielder Jack Clarke back to Spurs.

The youngster has not been given his chance this season by Marcelo Bielsa after returning to the club on loan after sealing a move to Spurs in the summer, and according to Sun, the Whites are now preparing to cut ties with Clarke and send him back early.

Despite being a key cog in the squad last season at Elland Road, Clarke has been usurped this time around by the likes of Helder Costa and Jack Harrison, with the youngster yet to make a single Championship appearance this season.

Sending Clarke back early does indeed give Leeds a few things to address, namely in the fact that they can now look to use the January transfer window to assess their options and look at who might be available on the market to take Clarke's squad place.

There's always plenty of players about, whether that be on loan or in the form of a loan move.

Here are TWO alternatives we here at FLW think Leeds could consider in place of Jack Clarke...

Marcus Maddison

If Leeds really do want to make a big splash and bring in a player who is courted by so many other clubs, then Maddison could be the man.

The Peterborough ace has once again been in superb form for the Posh and has already smashed in six League One goals while contributing with the same amount of stats.

Maddison will surely be chomping at the bit to be given his chance at a higher level, and he would have a hard time turning down a club the size of Leeds.

Tahith Chong

If Leeds want to take a punt on someone and go at the other end of the spectrum, then a move for Man United Chong could make perfect sense.

Chong has featured in and around the squad under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season but first-team opportunities are not going to be a constant you would assume.

Half a season in the Championship could be just what Chong requires, and the chance of playing under a manager like Marcelo Bielsa might be just what he needs at this stage of his young career.
