The coming summer is going to be a big one for Nottingham Forest and Aitor Karanka, as they look to put an average campaign behind them.

It has been a difficult year for the Reds in the Sky Bet Championship, with Forest eventually finishing 17th in the table and way short of where many expected them to be.

However, Karanka has offered a glimmer of hope, with performances since the Spaniard’s arrival significantly improving.

Regardless of that, Karanka still has big plans ahead of the summer, with the ex-Middlesbrough boss looking to make some big changes to the squad he has available to him.

Karanka has already shown what a shrewd dealer he can be in the transfer window, which Forest’s supporters will be expecting to see more of in the summer.

With that in mind, here is a low at TWO who could be good additions at the City Ground and TWO Karanka needs to be moving on…

We know Forest are amongst the clubs interested in Marriott, who has been on fire for Peterborough over the last 12 months.

The striker has real quality and could be the goalscorer that has been missing at the City Ground this season.

At 23, Marriott has his best ahead of him and would be a shrewd addition.

Murphy has disappointed in a Forest shirt this season.

The Irish striker has looked disinterested at times and failed to supply the goals Forest thought he would.

Tomlin has impressed whilst on-loan with Forest and would be an excellent permanent addition at the City Ground.

The attacking midfielder is a goal threat, whilst his vision will see him notch plenty of assists.

Karanka will surely be looking to strike a deal to get Tomlin back next season.

McKay impressed during his early days as a Forest player, but he never built on that fine start.

Since Karanka’s arrival others have been preferred and it would be no surprise to see McKay moved on this summer.
