Comfortably into the automatic promotion places and with a healthy lead at the top of the table, Wolverhampton Wanderers look destined to end their Premier League exodus under Nuno Santo this season.

The former Porto boss has performed exceptionally this season, utilising the vast transfer pot afforded by the club’s Chinese owners to source a plethora of players with the mentality to see out the job despite the burden of expectation, and for that the Portuguese must be applauded.

A top flight spot in is within reach, and Santo is likely to spend his summer preparing a squad capable of challenging at the higher level, and even mounting a bid for a comfortable mid-table finish.

There will be lots of changes at Molineux, with a likely departure in this man and potential additions in this pair…

The 22-year-old linked up with Wolves in the summer of 2014 having impressed upon his graduation from the academy at Wycombe Wanderers, but the youngster has struggled to break into the first team on a regular basis this term amidst intense competition.

The former England U21 international will have just a year remaining on his deal by the summer, and it would be no surprise to see him depart on a permanent basis, with plenty of clubs sure to show a keen interest in the player.

Hause has lots of potential, but with Wolves set to splash the cash again in the summer with Premier League finances also lining their pockets, a starting role appears to be a shrinking dot upon the horizon for the player.

It’s a shame, but Hause will surely be one of the first to go.

Lord knows how Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone didn’t keen the Portuguese winger in the Spanish capital this term, as he appears good enough to play a role in the Champions League side.

The 21-year-old has been exceptional following his summer arrival, contributing to almost twenty goals in the league as the club appear to be running away with the title, despite a slight lapse in form in recent matches.

Jota is on a season-long loan at Molineux, and Santo simply must find the funds to make the deal permanent as soon as the window opens, if not before.

Fans will be desperate to see the player at the club again next year.

Now wouldn’t this be huge, but with Wolves’ spending power and links with Porto, a deal for the free-scoring Malian isn’t quite out of the question.

Having been loaned to Vitoria Guimaraes last year, Marega returned to Porto with a point to prove, and is closing in on twenty league goals for the campaign as the Portuguese giants challenge for the title.

The 26-year-old is exactly the type of star signing Santo will target in the summer, but his arrival could put any potential permanent deal for Benik Afobe on the coolers, as well as a switch for Brazilian Leo Bonatini.

Marega looks ready to make the step to the higher level having asserted himself in the Portuguese top flight and the Champions League, and Wolves should consider stumping up the funds to bring him to the Black Country.
