Nottingham Forest have had a bumpy ride in the Championship so far with the overall verdict being disappointment and underachievement at this stage.

3 wins in a row filled Forest fans with hope but a crushing 3-0 defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Derby last week suggested that there is still lots of work to be done.

The bad news kept coming, though, after Montanier confirmed that star man Henri Lansbury and key striker Britt Assombalonga would not be available for a while through injury.

Luckily for Forest fans, the January transfer window is fast approaching.

This is a chance for Montanier to fiddle with his squad and reshuffle the pack to push them up from 16th in the league.

There are certain players who need to leave and this could pave the way for new arrivals.

Here are two that need to be shipped out and a new face that needs to come in this January.

OUT - Matty Fryatt

fryatt

Matty Fryatt has not played a single game in 2016/17 and needs to leave for his own good.

There will be a number of takers for the experienced forward but both parties would benefit from his exit.

The 30-year-old has only managed 17 starts in two and a half years at Forest, mainly down to injury woes.

OUT - Apostolos Vellios

Apostolos Vellios has been linked with a move to Olympiakos and I'm sure many Forest fans wouldn't mind this if they could recoup the money they paid for him.

The Greek striker has six goals this season and has not been bad in fairness but there are better options out there.

IN - Omar Bogle

Many clubs are after Bogle but Nottingham Forest need to make him a priority.

The quick, strong and clinical Grimsby Town forward has 16 league goals already this season.

The jump from League Two to the Championship might be big but Bogle certainly has the attributes to be a success in a higher league and he's still only 23.
