Leeds United have faced a tough run of games since the appointment of new boss Paul Heckingbottom, yet despite credible draws with Bristol City and Derby County, the former Barnsley man is winless in three having succumbed to defeat at Sheffield United in his first game in charge.

The play-offs appear to be shrinking into the distance, although the 40-year-old will refuse to rule his side out of the running with the large part of a third of the season left to play out.

Whatever happens to Leeds United this season Heckingbottom has a huge task on his hands in the summer, when he must evaluate which players fit into his plans for the upcoming campaign.

There will be ins and outs aplenty at Elland Road over the summer window, with one man sure to be on his way, and Heckingbottom surely to consider launching moves for this pair…

The Dutchman has struggled in the first team since his arrival in the summer under Thomas Christiansen, and a loan move next year would do the 19-year-old the world of good.

Grot has done well with the reserves, but doesn’t quite appear ready for Championship action as of yet, with a League One loan move to allow him to find his feet in the English game a possible option for Heckingbottom.

Big and powerful, Grot’s game could be suited for the physical third tier, and Grot could easily fit into a promotion chasing side and perform well.

Marcus Antonsson has had success in the division this term during a loan spell and should return to Leeds in the summer ready to compete for a place in the squad, so Grot could do the same.

Klich was signed in the summer from FC Twente, but was hardly given a sniff of first team action under Thomas Christiansen.

Allowed to leave in January to join Dutch side FC Utrecht on loan until the end of the campaign, the Polish international is likely to head to the World Cup, and will return with the intention to be a first team starter.

With a new manager at the helm, the Pole has an excellent chance of returning to Elland Road and establishing himself in the side.

Leeds are crying out for a holding midfielder at the moment, and the irony is that Klich could be the perfect man for the job.

Reid has been exceptional this season, and he could emerge as a summer target for Heckingbottom having enjoyed a remarkable campaign with the Robins.

Manager Lee Johnson will demand a sizeable fee for the player which could put any potential deal into jeopardy, and any talk of a move will be cast aside should the play-off chasing Robins secure a place in the Premier League for next season.

Having smashed all targets this season with his goalscoring output and a series of fantastic displays, Reid will certainly be hot property in the summer, and could be yet another piece of the puzzle as Leeds look to end their ever-increasing Premier League exile.
