Whatever happens to Bristol City in the coming months, the 2017/18 season will be one to remember.

A breathtaking Carabao Cup semi-final against Premier League leaders Manchester City resulted in a tight defeat, with wins against the likes of Watford, Stoke, Crystal Palace and Manchester United on the way to the last four.

Manager Lee Johnson is being hailed as the mastermind behind the success, with the former Robins player enjoying unprecedented success at Ashton Gate this term.

Promotion, and even the play-offs, remain a long way off for the club, but Johnson will already be planning ahead for next year at the back of his mind.

Changes are to be expected in the summer, with this man surely on his way out, and this pair sure to be eyed as potential additions to the squad…

Taylor linked up with the Robins in a controversial move from cross-city rivals Bristol Rovers, but fans of the Pirates will be delighted to see their former charge struggling in the second tier.

The 27-year-old looks out of his depth at the higher level, and is yet to find the net in the league this season having been restricted to just a handful of starts under Johnson.

A decent striker who performed well at the Memorial Ground, he may find himself moved on this summer, with clubs from the lower levels sure to show a serious interest in the player.

With Famara Diedhiou and Bobby Reid ahead of him in the pecking order, perhaps it is time for Taylor to find a new home.

The Peterborough striker is in high demand, with a number of second tier sides showing an interest in the player in recent weeks.

The top scorer in the third tier, Marriott has performed exceptionally since making the step up from the fourth tier with Luton Town in the summer, and could well be on his way again with the Posh set to make an extremely tidy profit.

The Robins have funds to spend, and have proven their willingness to utilise them with big money signs such as Diedhiou, and Johnson would not hesitate in picking up a player as prolific as Marriott.

The perfect signing for this side, Marriott would score goals for fun at Ashton Gate.

Another Peterborough man in high demand, Maddison has been involved in almost thirty goals for the Posh this term, cementing his position as one of the deadliest playmaker’s in the Football League.

The Robins are in need of another creative man to continue the flow of assists to Bobby Reid and the aforementioned Diedhiou, and Maddison could prove to be the perfect man to keep the tap turned firmly on.

His ability to pick out a pass and deadliness from a set piece would be welcome attributes to Johnson’s squad, who will be in the hunt for promotion again next term should they fail to achieve the feat this year.

Maddison could perform at the top end of the Championship, and would even prove a worthy addition should elevation to the top flight be confirmed.
