Millwall haven't made the start to the season that some fans would have hoped. They've won just 3 matches out of 11 in the league and sit 15th.

Club legend as a player, Neil Harris, resigned as manager two weeks ago after their poor start to the season. But, still hasn't been replaced properly with Millwall considering a range of young managers. Harris managed the club since 2015 and won 42% of his matches.

The London side sit 6 points above the relegation zone and although they have some room to breathe now, they could easily be dragged into a relegation scrap. Millwall fans will be hoping for the 'new manager bounce' and that players step up.

Let's look at which players have been playing well at the Den this season and which haven't...

Hot - Matt Smith

Millwall's Matt Smith celebrates after he scores his sides first goal during the Sky Bet Championship match at The Hawthorns, West Bromwich.

The 30-year-old striker has contributed directly to 5 of Millwall's 10 goals this season. The three goals he put in the net himself were all from corners where he showed his striker's instinct and strength. He assisted the other two.

At 6'6" Smith has been able to assert himself into matches with good hold up play and aerial ability. Although he could score more, he helps the team in other ways.

From open play, he hasn't contributed enough and has missed good chances, which may catch up with Millwall later. So although he could have done more for Millwall this season, his impact has still been important to put them ahead of relegation.

Hot - Shaun Hutchinson

The centre half has only made three starts this season for Millwall, starting three of the last four matches. He scored their only goal against QPR and played as Millwall drew to Luton and beat Leeds United.

Although out of favour with Harris, since his departure he's worked his way back into the side and has made an impact.

Hutchinson may not be the most technical or composed player on the ball, but he's very strong in the air and is good at reading danger and coming out of his line to deal with it. Hopefully, he can carry on this form and continue to impress Millwall fans who have liked his performances.

Not - Shaun Williams

The Irish international has played for Millwall over 200 times, but at 32 is struggling to get into the team. He's made 6 starts and 1 substitute appearance, partly due to injuries.

He has a good work rate and is still an energetic, dogged midfielder. But has looked a bit low on confidence and unable to affect the game much with the ball. He's started over 30 matches in the Championship for Millwall in the last three season, having his best goal contributing year last season.

But with the first-choice midfielder, Ryan Leonard, out injured with a knee injury Williams needs to up his game and assert himself into the Millwall midfield under the new manager, whoever that will be.

Not - Mahlon Romeo

The right-back has started 10 Championship matches this season so far. Although he makes a good number of tackles, his overall defensive game can be shaky and exploited by the opposition.

Going forward he's struggled to help his team too. He hasn't gained any assists, creating 0.7 chances and making just 1.3 crosses per 90 minutes. He's completed just 65% of his passes, completing 19% of his attempted long passes. Vulnerable under pressure and he has lacked creativity to help in the final third.
