2 hot, 2 not as West Brom prepare to host Nottingham Forest in crucial clash

West Brom take on Nottingham Forest tomorrow in a game that could have a serious impact in the race for promotion.

Three successive wins have given Albion a six-point lead at the top of the Championship, with the Reds two points behind the automatic promotion places themselves.

Therefore, both sides know the importance of the game and it’s sure to be a cracker.

Slaven Bilic’s men will start as favourites due to their fine recent run and home advantage, although Forest have shown they are a top team on their day.

Here we look at TWO hot, TWO not going into this highly anticipated encounter…

Hot: West Brom’s form

As mentioned, Albion are flying going into this game, having won three games on the spin. However, it’s not just the results that have been impressive but the performances too.

They were superb in awful conditions against Millwall on Sunday and backed that up with a comeback win at Reading where they dominated for large parts.

After a tough spell, they look back to their best.

QUIZ: Can you name the season in which these 14 West Brom images were taken?

What season did Igor Balis score this crucial penalty?

Hot: Forest against the top Championship teams

Yet, they will be coming up against a Forest side that excel against the best in the league – which was proven in the past week when a deserved 2-0 win against Leeds was followed up by a 1-0 loss at home to Charlton.

Forest have picked up four points from six against Leeds, six from six against Brentford and beat Fulham in their only game this season.

Albion’s win at the City Ground on the opening day is the only time the Reds have lost to a top seven team this season.

Not: Sabri Lamouchi

The Forest boss has worked wonders this season and is rightly loved by Forest fans for the job he has done.

However, the support are a bit annoyed with him going into this game after he decided to make five changes to the team for the loss against Charlton.

It seemed excessive and it backfired spectacularly.

Not: West Brom’s strikers

Despite the overall positivity surrounding Albion, they are lacking a prolific number nine right now.

Hal Robson-Kanu has not scored in five and has hit just one in 12, Charlie Austin has one in nine and Kenneth Zohore doesn’t even make the bench.
