Middlesbrough have plenty of positives that they can take from the weekend's clash with Fulham.

To secure a 1-1 draw against a recently-relegated side and one with a much bigger budget than themselves is a big achievement and for that credit has to go to Neil Warnock and his players.

However there's no doubt that there was plenty of areas for the side to improve.

With new players set to come into the club, others set to return from injury and a whole tactical system to be tinkered with over the coming weeks it means that Warnock could have a number of dilemmas to weigh up.

Here are two items that will be added to the 72-year-old's to-do list following the clash at Craven Cottage.

Matt Crooks' best position

A player who made his debut against Fulham and showed glimpses of what he has to offer.

Crooks is a central midfielder but started on the right flank before playing the second half as a centre-forward, with all of these positions being areas where the former Rotherham man can make an impact.

However as more players return to form and fitness it'll be very interesting to see where Warnock sees Crooks fitting as he's certainly a player who can play various roles to help the team over the coming season.

Recruiting another attacker

A key area where Middlesbrough struggled was in the attacking third.

Uche Ikpeazu did alright against Fulham but often looked isolated as a lone striker, while he was replaced with midfielder Matt Crooks when he was eventually replaced in the second half.

Neil Warnock will be desperate to bring in at least one more attacker before the end of the summer transfer window as otherwise it could be a real slog for Middlesbrough in front of goal this term.
