If you're a Luton Town fan right now, life must be pretty sweet.

The Hatters are punching above their weight when it comes to their budget as they sit in 11th place in the Sky Bet Championship, and with fans back at Kenilworth Road, the mood is sky-high.

A 3-1 victory over Norwich City quelled the disappointment of their battering from the hands of Cardiff City last week, and Nathan Jones has got a determined, energetic squad playing for him in his second stint as manager.

There's always room for improvement though, and Jones could very well be looking to strengthen the squad when the January transfer window comes around.

They don't necessarily have to spend money though, as there's a number of players still waiting to be picked up having been let go by clubs in the summer.

Let's look at two of those who could bolster Luton's chances of reaching the play offs by joining.

Kieron Freeman

Luton recently brought in defender Gabriel Osho, previously of Reading, however he's gone on loan to Yeovil so Jones clearly sees him as a project.

Martin Cranie and Matty Pearson are currently sharing the right back role and whilst both of them have their uses, they're naturally both centre backs.

Bringing in a natural right back who has good abilities getting forward would be a major positive, and Freeman could do just that.

He left Sheffield United in the summer and would be a good signing for many Championship teams, let alone Luton.

Andre Green

Green was once regarded as one of Aston Villa's best young prospects, but they decided to release him in the summer, having not progressed as much as they'd hoped.

The 22-year-old has spent time on loan at Preston North End, Portsmouth and Charlton and will feel that he still has something to offer in a Championship starting 11.

Being the age he is, Green still has years to reach until he gets to his peak, and with the wide areas being an area that Luton don't have a lot of depth at, he could be a very useful capture.

Green also played as a striker occasionally for Charlton, so a deputy (or a partner) to the prolific James Collins could also be an option.
