Nottingham Forest’s season has got off to an indifferent start, despite their win on Wednesday evening.

Aitor Karanka’s men recorded just their second win of the campaign with a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

But five draws have seen them stutter to find the winning formula.

One defeat in eight is an impressive record, but games ending level have been an issue for the Reds.

Despite the lack of wins under their belt, Forest are remaining in games and are becoming a hard team to beat, even if they have found three-point hauls elusive so far.

Individuals have shone, and some might be playing off the back of form last year, with this season still in its early stages.

There will also be players who will have the spotlight on them, ahead of any potential offers from interested parties when the winter transfer window opens.

So, we here at FLW, have taken a look at which TWO Nottingham Forest players we expect Karanka to be worried about losing in January....

After a double salvo of late cup heroics, Matty Cash has played himself into the first-team and has been impressive doing so.

The young midfielder has been impressive for Aitor Karanka this season despite the unprecedented amount of signings.

He has a total of four goals in all competitions, all coming in his last seven games.

Clubs will be keeping an eye on him to see how he does over the next three months, but he has potential that will have surely alerted clubs higher up the food chain.

Despite his age, Danny Fox is having somewhat of a footballing renaissance.

The 32-year-old, who is usually a left-back, has been deployed as a central defender this season under Aitor Karanka and it has worked wonders.

He has been an ever-present in the Forest line-up in the league this season and has been a consistently solid performer.

Defenders tend to improve the most as they get older, and Fox is demonstrating that as he has become a vital and dependable part of Karanka’s squad.

Should a club be leaking goals, they may look to the experienced man to get them out of a hole.

Forest should be worried that he could be attracting interest ahead of January.
