QPR have been exceeding expectations so far this season and are now in 5th position following their exciting 3-2 win over Hull this weekend.

Rangers had to wait until the closing stages of the match to secure their victory with talented youngster Eberechi Eze winning one and scoring two penalties within the last 15 minutes.

The Hoops have been free-scoring this season having scored 21 goals from 12 games. This is an approach that seems to be getting the best out of attacking players like Eze, Nakhi Wells and on-loan striker Jordan Hugill who have contributed with six goals each so far this campaign.

But, the impressive performances of these attacking players has limited opportunities for other potential youth prospects at QPR.

Here are two talents who could be seeking a loan move away from the club in January.

Olamidie Shodipo

Academy product Ola Shodipo has been in and around the first team at QPR since making his first-team debut on the opening day of the 2016/17 season against Leeds at the age of 19 and went on to make 10 more senior appearances that season.

Since then, Shodipo's playing time at Rangers has been limited to substitute appearances and infrequent starts.

He has been out on loan to Port Vale and Colchester over the past two seasons but failed to break into the first team during his time at these clubs due to lack of form and successive injuries.

So far this season, Shodipo has made just one substitute appearance from the bench in the Championship and not started any games.

However, the 22-year-old still has promise and is well regarded at Loftus Road, but to improve, Shodipo must look towards another club to improve his consistency and confidence before returning to QPR.

Jan Mlakar

20-year-old Slovenian striker Jan Mlakar joined The Hoops from Maribor in the summer and has made three subs appearances for the clubs since.

Mlakar made one start this season in the EFL Cup and played the full 90 minutes against Portsmouth but he is yet to make an impact at QPR.

The Slovenian under 21 player scored for his country recently whilst away on international duty and showed glimpses of his talent, putting in a top performance against Hungary which would have helped his confidence.

It will take time for Mlakar to adapt to the English game and a loan move to a lower league clubs would help him to gain experience of the game at a lower level. He certainly has potential, having netted 13 in 26 last season fro Maribor, but it may be too soon for him to break into QPR's overachieving squad at present.
