Mark Robins will be seeking to take his Coventry City side up to the Championship this season, with the Sky Blues having been out of the second division for a good number of years now after a difficult couple of seasons for the Midlands based club.

Despite having to suffer the ignominy of playing at Birmingham City's St Andrew's Stadium this term, the Sky Blues have managed to start the campaign superbly and now find themselves in the midst of a fight for promotion.

Robins has constructed a team that has developed the right blend of youth and experience, with the likes of Liam Walsh and Matt Godden having thrived more than most under the former Manchester United man's stewardship.

Coventry also continue to nurture a host of talented youngsters, who could one day go on to follow the same successful paths as James Maddison and Callum Wilson in the future.

Here, we take a look at TWO emerging Coventry City talents that could save the club millions in the future....

Brandon Mason

The 22-year-old left back has performed well under Robins when handed a chance to impress by his manger this term, despite the presence of fellow full back Sam McCallum.

Very strong in the tackle and possessing good positioning, Mason originally joined the Sky Blues from Watford back in 2018 and has improved ten fold since first arriving at the club.

Offensively, Mason offers a great option going forward down the left flank, with his dribbling ability and range of passing making him a great outlet from which Coventry can spring counter attacks from.

With McCallum set to depart at the end of the campaign for Norwich City, Mason could well make the position his own in the coming years as he looks to become a regular starter under Robins.

Jordan Shipley

Another youngster who has come off the Coventry production line of academy graduates, Shipley has once again shown this term why is held in such high regard by the Sky Blues.

A versatile midfield player, Shipley is capable of filling in at the centre of a midfield four or out wide as a wide playmaker or out and out winger, thus filling various roles for Robins this term.

Still only aged 22, Shipley has already made over 100 appearances for his boyhood club, with his creative talents getting the best out of himself and those around his for much of the current season so far.

He is yet to really establish where his best position is in the team, not that Robins will have any complaints, with the youngster having shown he can perform to a high level in many roles.
