Birmingham City have had a very busy summer so far as Lee Bowyer makes plenty of additions to his squad ahead of his first full season in charge.

The former player did a brilliant job in keeping Blues in the Championship in the previous campaign and fans will be excited to see how the team perform under his guidance moving forward.

It's not an easy start for Bowyer's men though, as they take on recently relegated Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on the first Saturday night of the season.

And, here we look at TWO dilemmas that are facing the boss ahead of the exciting opener...

Which wingers to go with?

Pleasingly, Blues are stacked for options out wide and it will be giving Bowyer a headache ahead of the trip to Yorkshire.

Ivan Sanchez and Jeremie Bela are both good players at this level, whilst new recruits Tahith Chong and Jordan Graham offer more depth and quality to those attacking positions.

Realistically, only two of those are likely to play against the Blades, or three at a push, so it will be interesting to see who does get the nod.

How to fit Dion Sanderson in

Another recent signing for Blues was Dion Sanderson, with the defender joining on loan from Wolves.

It was a real coup to get the youngster after his impressive displays for Sunderland last season but it doesn't mean he will walk straight into the XI.

Harlee Dean and Marc Roberts were both key to the team surviving last season so Bowyer has a decision to make, although he could even go with a back three. Either way, it appears the boss will have a big call to make on his defence.
