Derby County have had a superb start to 2020 and the Rams have pushed themselves closer to the play-off places of late.
Having arrived at Pride Park last summer, boss Phillip Cocu has slowly but surely embedded his philosophy and coaching methods into the East Midlands club.
Good and consistent results over the months of January and February have seen Derby impress, and the performances of a number of their players have dramatically improved in the meantime.
Tom Lawrence, Max Bird and Martyn Waghorn have all performed well of late, whilst Wayne Rooney’s arrival at the start of January has delivered a wealth of experience and quality.
A 1-1 draw with Fulham last Friday saw the Rams earn a respectable point, and Cocu’s side will be looking to follow that up with a win when they meet Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday evening.

With focus on the game, we have taken a look at TWO Derby players who may be suited to another club…
The Dutch winger has found playing time hard to come by this season, making the majority of his appearances from the substitutes bench.
11 appearances in the Championship has seen the winger fail to find the back of the net, gaining one assist in the process.
Joining Derby in 2018 from Brentford, much was expected of the former PSV man, especially when compatriot Cocu was appointed manager last summer – but 29-year-old must now be considering his future away from Pride Park.
Arguably a move to another Championship club could be sought, but Jozefzoon may be considering a move back to his homeland – where he could attempt to resurrect his career.
Remarkably for a 25-year-old, Marriott has had no less than 10 clubs during his career – and much was expected during his time at Derby following on from a productive goalscoring spell with Peterborough United in the 2017/2018 season.
Marriott, however, has struggled to make an impact at Derby this season, scoring just three goals in 28 games this term.
Whilst the English striker has had just under 30 appearances, 17 of those have come from the bench and it is hard to see him getting a guaranteed place in Cocu’s starting eleven.
A move to another Championship club would be beneficial if that is the case – but one has to question when Marriott will settle down at a club.
