After reaching the play-off final last season, Derby County made a frustrating start to their Sky Bet Championship campaign under Phillip Cocu.

The Rams struggled have struggled for consistency so far this season and will be looking to improve on that going into the second half of the campaign. They're currently 17th in the league table, eight points outside the top six.

There's still enough time for Derby to get their season back on track, though and the arrival of Wayne Rooney at the club appears to have given the rest of the players a much-needed confidence boost.

Derby have won their last three matches in all competitions and are finally starting to build some momentum again, but there are those who feel that Cocu will need to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window if the team are to achieve a top-six finish.

If Cocu is to strengthen this month, though, he will probably need to sell some players too, in order to free up space for any potential new signings.

With this in mind, here are TWO Derby players that have perhaps outstayed their welcome at Pride Park...

Ikechi Anya

Ikechi Anya hasn't featured in a competitive match for Derby since the second leg of their play-off semi-final against Fulham in 2018.

He's currently out with a calf injury that he suffered in pre-season and no time frame has been set for his recovery.

It's very difficult to see the 31-year-old forcing his way back into Cocu's plans when he does return to fitness and with his contract at Pride Park set to expire at the end of the season, he may well have played his final game for the club.

Florian Jozefzoon

Florian Jozefzoon has really struggled to make an impact for Derby since joining the club from Brentford. The 28-year-old has failed to make the matchday squad on several occasions this season and has clearly failed to impress Cocu.

The wideman has made ten Championship appearances for Derby so far this season, but he hasn't started a league game since for the club since the beginning of October.

QUIZ: Where did these 15 Derby County players sign from?

Derby are thought to be interested in signing another attacking player in January, which strongly suggests that Jozefzoon is no longer a part of the club's plans. With this in mind, it seems very possible that he could leave Pride Park this month.
