Reading have enjoyed a brilliant start to the Championship season, with Veljko Paunović's men currently sitting top of the league.

Whilst there have been many factors for their fantastic form, there's no doubting that the performances of Michael Olise have been key.

The 18-year-old has been highly-rated by the Royals for some time and was involved with the first-team last season but his displays have gone up a level under the new boss.

Olise has scored two goals and registered three assists in just nine games and has shone with his overall play.

Worryingly for Reading, that has attracted attention from a host of top clubs, with reports claiming the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Wolves and Leeds United are chasing the teenager.

And, here we explain why those top-flight clubs will be desperate to secure Olise in the January window...

He has huge potential

There aren't many players that are Olise's age playing every week in the Championship, never mind those who can match his productivity levels.

To be doing that at 18 is mightily impressive and suggests he has a bright future in the game. He boasts an excellent left-foot, can beat players with ease and should only get better as he continues to develop.

He is a bargain

Another reason Olise will be in demand is because he could turn out to be a bargain for whoever does win the race for his signature.

Football Insider have stated that he has an £8m release clause in his contract and that is nothing to these clubs in today's game when you look at the fees other talented youngsters have commanded.

In the years to come, buying Olise for £8m could look a remarkably good deal.
