Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds side are looking to bolster their midfield options as they are eyeing up a move for Brentford central-midfielder Lewis MacLeod in January.

MacLeod has featured on ten occasions for the Bees, who have slipped down the Championship table in recent weeks following the departure of manager Dean Smith.

New Brentford boss, Thomas Frank, faces a nervy January ahead with a number of his players being linked with moves elsewhere, with former manager Dean Smith likely to be eyeing his former players to join him at Aston Villa.

MacLeod's former club Rangers have also been linked with a move for the midfielder, but it is crucial that Marcelo Bielsa forces a move through for the midfielder, amid the rumoured interest from the Scottish giants.

MacLeod has two goals and two assists to his name in an impressive breakthrough season for the 24-year-old.

But why do Leeds need to beat Rangers to secure MacLeod's signature?

Find out here....

Leeds have got the likes of Samu Saiz currently in one of the central midfielder positions but with the Saiz being more attack minded, MacLeod was slot straight into Bielsa's starting XI.

The Brentford midfielder would compliment Mateusz Klich well at Leeds and could be key in their push for promotion to the Premier League this season.

The 24-year-old has been a regular starter for Thomas Frank and has been one of the standout players for Brentford so far this season.

If he was to join Marcelo Bielsa's side, then he would be confident of earning a starting spot ahead of the likes of Samu Saiz who has been out of form so far this season.
