Charlton Athletic look like promotion contenders this season with their new-look squad gelling nicely and putting together a good run of results.

Lee Bowyer will be rightly pleased with what he has seen so far this campaign and may well look to the January window to bolster further, whilst it remains to be seen if some players end up moving away from the club in some capacity.

With that in mind, then, here are two players we think could be potentially considering a spell away from Charlton in the near future...

Junior Quitirna

Quitirna is a talented youngster involved in the u23 side at Charlton at the moment but there may come a point where the club feels a loan to a senior club lower down the league system could be the next best step for him.

It's obvious he has talent but he's perhaps not going to get into the Charlton side at the moment with some of the signings they have made, and so a loan could be best for his progression.

Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu

Another good young player at Charlton, Sarpong-Wiredu may also benefit from a loan deal away in the January window.

A lot depends on whether Lee Bowyer feels his first-team squad is deep enough now and whether he is able to add in January but, if he feels as though things are looking okay, perhaps some of the youngsters will be allowed to head out and get senior experience.

It's a balancing act, and they may also consider whether staying in-house is better, but Charlton have shown before that they use loan deals well for some of their players.
