Wigan Athletic will look to pick up a crucial three points in their battle for Championship survival on Saturday afternoon, when they host Millwall at the DW Stadium.

With the Latics picking up just two points from a possible nine in their last three games, Paul Cook's side find themselves still stuck inside the relegation in the Championship table, three points adrift of safety.

Millwall meanwhile, still harbour hopes of a place in the play-offs this season, and will be on a high following their 1-0 win at top-six rivals Preston last time out, which has left them tenth in the table, four points off those play-off places.

This therefore, is unlikely to be an easy task for Wigan, and with that in mind, we've taking a look at the starting XI Cook could name to give his side the best possible chance of taking all three points against the Lions.

Having employed a 4-2-3-1 for much of the season so far, we imagine it will be that system that Cook uses again on Saturday.

In goal, first-choice 'keeper David Marshall should continue between the posts against the Lions.

Ahead of Marshall, Chey Dunkley's suspension and the continuing absence of Antonee Robinson and Danny Fox through injury, means that a back four of Nathan Byrne, Cedric Kipre, Leon Balogun and Kal Naismith should all continue this weekend.

There could however be changes in midfield, where the ever-exciting youngster Joe Gelhardt and often influential Anthony Pilkington could both return to the side to give the Latics an added attacking influence they may need to break down a solid Millwall defence.

With summer signing Jamal Lowe featuring in every game so far this season, and captain Sam Morsy and Joe Williams the two standout options in the holding midfield positions for Wigan this season, we expect Lee Evans and Gavin Massey to be the two who make way to allow room for Pilkington and Gelhardt in the XI.

Can you identify these 15 former Wigan strikers?

Upfront, following his double against Cardiff last weekend - the first time since his move to the DW Stadium last summer he has netted more than once in a single game - Kieffer Moore looks well set to lead the line again on Saturday.

That breakthrough against the Bluebirds is one that both player and club will surely be hoping is a turning point in what has been a difficult debut season with Wigan so far for the Wales international, as they look to take a significant step towards survival this weekend.
