Sheffield Wednesday have enjoyed a really encouraging start to the Championship season, despite the fact that Lee Bullen is still temporarily leading the side following Steve Bruceâs Hillsborough walk out. Â
Bullen has picked up six points from the opening two games of the season, with the Owls comfortably moving past Reading FC and Barnsley in the weeks gone by.
This weekend, though, the Owls face a much different test, with a trip to the Den to take on Millwall always a daunting task.
Neil Harrisâ side are particularly strong on home turf, with even the divisionâs best struggling to overturn Millwall in the capital.
Whilst Bullenâs selection might not warrant wholesale changes, you canât help but feel the awkwardness of the task at Millwall might force his hand, which was noted in the managerâs pre-match press conference.
Here, we take a look at the XI we expect to seeâ¦
Keiren Westwood was sent-off at Reading, subsequently missing the win over Barnsley. However, his experience is key and he should return to retain his place as first-choice goalkeeper.
Ahead of him, Liam Palmer can expect to continue at left-back, whilst Tom Lees and summer signing, Julian Borner, have looked good in central defence.
For us, another change will come at right-back, with the now-available Dominic Iorfa coming into the starting XI. Thereâs been little wrong with Moses Odubajoâs contribution, but Millwall are a physical side, and Iorfa offers a presence that canât be underestimated.
In midfield, a trio of Kieran Lee, Sam Hutchinson and Adam Reach did well last weekend, offering a strong axis. We expect that to continue, despite the fact Barry Bannanâs craft might be available.
Steven Fletcher is a powerful striker, and again, given Millwallâs style, his presence as the focal point of a 4-3-3 offers Wednesday a target.
The pace of the side will come from Kadeem Harris and Jacob Murphy on the wings, with that pair allowed to bomb forward given the solidity the midfield three provide.
