Aston Villa have had a bit of a bizarre season with the mood of fans rapidly shifting from optimism to pessimism within the space of a few hours sometimes.

It is no surprise either with the mix of an impressive transfer window and some more than questionable performances, and after last weekend's showing against Sheffield United where Steve Bruce's side were humbled 4-1 at Bramall Lane that ill-feeling among the fans towards the club has reached a new high.

So it is safe to say that changes are a near certainty for the Villains' trip to Blackburn on Saturday evening.

But with so many players vying for a start, who will Bruce bring in?

Here are two changes he could make for the trip to Ewood Park...

One change surely has to come in the Villa goal.

I feel sorry for Orjan Nyland but it cannot be helping his confidence keeping him in goal when he is going through such an error-strewn spell.

The Norwegian was at fault for another goal at Bramall Lane, letting Oliver Norwood's ambitious free-kick sneak in at his near post.

It is surely time for Bruce to give fellow summer signing Andre Moreira a starting chance on Saturday.

The pairing of James Chester and Mile Jedinak has undoubtedly failed to become a solid unit at the heart of the Villa defence and needs to change.

One way of solving this would be to move Axel Tuanzebe into his prefered position alongside Chester and in place of Jedinak.

The Manchester United loanee has been played as a right-back by Bruce so far this campaign but he could surely think about moving Ahmed El Mohamady back to the right of defence and using Tuanzebe at centre-back instead of playing a central midfielder there.
