Championship football returns this weekend after the international break, with a tough looking match for Birmingham City to kick the weekend off on Friday night..

They play host to high-flying West Brom in a Midlands Derby, a game in which they'll surely be happy to force a draw.

West Brom are scintillating going forward, full of verve and attacking prowess.

Monk has made his side hard to beat, perhaps not the most exciting pressing up the pitch, but organised and solid.

They'll need to be, West Brom highlighted their potential with the 7-1 thrashing of QPR and looking at their squad, a similar win could come at any time, against anyone.

The Blues have failed to register a goal in five of their last six matches, with the 2-2 draw with Forest the only time they've managed to hit the back of the net. It promises to be a stern test, one that could see them drop into the bottom three, if results go against them.

They're a side that don't score, but who have conceded in four of their last six. Two 0-0 draws were viewed as good points, but they can't rely on opposition to be so generous throughout the season.

With the size of the challenge in mind, here are two changes Garry Monk could make to his Birmingham side this week.

They lined up in a 4-4-2 formation for the 0-0 draw with QPR, but they could favour a more resilient back line against the Baggies.

They have the scope to add a defender to the mix, Marc Roberts, who played plenty of football last season.

If the emphasis isn't on winning, but instead on not getting beat, then a 5-4-1 could be the way to go, solidifying the back line with an extra pair of legs.

If they chose to go more robust and direct, then expect the starting pair of Adams and Jutkiewicz to be dropped.

He might not have bagged many goals, but Omar Bogle is a target man and would be the focal point of direct passes.

To get anything at all, the ball needs to be in their defensive third as little as possible, which means going from back to front quickly and hoping the ball sticks up top. Bogle is the man to make that happen, even if he isn't the most potent goal threat they have.
