Swansea are on an inconsistent run of form at the moment and the manner of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Barnsley would have frustrated boss Steve Cooper.

Swansea found the net after 67 minutes as Andre Ayew's header opened the scoring for Swansea. Their lead only lasted for three minutes as Barnsley replied when Alex Mowatt scored on 70 minutes to earn a point for the Tykes.

After a strong start to the season, Swansea's form has started to dip of late. They have now only won one of their last six Championship fixtures but picked up 16 points from their first six matches which is enough to see them still in third place.

However, Cooper will be looking for an improved performance as his side take on Brentford at home this evening and they will be hoping to return to winning ways.

Here are two changes Cooper should make for this upcoming match...

Replace Joe Rodon with Ben Wilmot

Cooper confirmed yesterday that Joe Rodon will be out for this fixture after sustaining an ankle injury in the previous fixture against Barnsley.

Rodon was replaced by 19-year-old centre back Ben Wilmot, who was making just his second Championship appearance of the season.

Although he was only replacing Rodon for 20 minutes, the young defender looked comfortable for the Swans.

He has impressed in the League Cup with solid performances against lower league Northampton in the EFL Cup. Wilmot also featured in the 6-0 win over Cambridge so he has experienced first-team football this season.

Starting against Brentford will be a good test for Wilmot, but being around the first team recently will ensure he is prepared to fill in for Welsh international Rodon whilst he is out.

Replace Tom Carroll with Jay Fulton

Jay Fulton was left out of the matchday squad against Barnsley last weekend but the reasons for this have not been revealed.

Fulton played in every match prior to Saturday's fixture and had put in a number of impressive performances in the defensive midfield role.

He played particularly well in the 2-1 victory over Charlton at the beginning of October, providing an assist, and hardly put a foot wrong in the 2-1 loss to Stoke, so his omission against Barnsley was unjustified.

Cooper may have looked for more creativity with the inclusion of Tom Carroll on Saturday, but the playmaker looked off the pace as he was making his first start of the season.

Fulton should reclaim his place while Carroll has the chance to build up his match fitness.
