Wolves are another Championship club who are performing well below the expected level, and they could well end up in the relegation scrap come April.

Paul Lambert has not managed to do much more than what Walter Zenga was doing at Molineux, and the club are in serious danger of losing their place in the second tier.

However, fans will be hopeful that there are three teams worse than themselves, and this could mean a stay of execution for Lambert's men.

The Scot will no doubt be drawing up plans for a summer overhaul at the club, with the squad he inherited full of talented players but not necessarily those sort of players who are made for Championship football.

With this in mind, FLW writer Lee Connor has taken a look at TWO Championship players Wolves should be eyeing up ahead of the summer transfer window...

Anthony Pilkington

The Cardiff City man has been in excellent form this term for the Bluebirds, and he has bags of experience and ability at Championship level.

Pilkington is the sort of player Lambert would love to sign, and it won't be out of the question if the Wolves owners back the club like they did last summer.

He could add goals and versatility to the Wolves team, as well as top flight experience.

Britt Assombalonga

If Wolves want to make a statement of intent in the transfer market, then signing the star striker from Forest could be a massive coup for the club.

Assombalonga has been injured plenty of times in his career with Forest, but his talent is undeniable, and it is this talent which Wolves might want to capture.

If Lambert was backed to the point he could afford a striker of this calibre, then Wolves would definitely be on the right path to an improved season next term.
