With the January transfer window in full flow, plenty of new players are arriving at Sky Bet Championship clubs and they will be eager to make an instant impact.

It is often tough to come straight into a new team and impress so the new players will be looking to get off to a positive, rather than jittery, start to life at their new club.

As we are halfway through the window, there have now been quite a few comings and goings with players in the Championship.

A number of these new players would have been handed their debut today with the intention of making a firm impression on their manager and the fans.

Here are 2 players who grasped their chance today and started life at their new club in impressive fashion.

Daryl Horgan

After much anticipation, Daryl Horgan was handed his debut for Preston North End against league leaders Brighton today.

The Republic of Ireland international was in scintillating form up and down the wings and provided an assist as Preston triumphed 2-0 over the Seagulls.

The 24-year-old looks like he could be a really shrewd piece of business.

Callum Connolly

Callum Connolly was only announced as Wigan's new signing earlier today but he certainly made an impression in today's relegation six pointer with Burton Albion.

The right back, who is on loan from Everton, opened the scoring in injury time in the first half.

And the 19-year-old netted another after the break to get Wigan a vital three points and impress his new fans.
