Bolton Wanderers have had a pretty remarkable season, with Ian Evatt's side going on a remarkable run over recent months which has seen the team go from languishing in the bottom half to title contenders.

The only focus for all connected to the Trotters will be on ensuring they win promotion in the coming weeks.

However, a pleasing aspect of the club now is that there appears to be a long-term plan in place. And, one aspect of that will be bringing in young players into the XI.

Wanderers have a decent history of producing their own talent, and here we look at TWO players who could force their way into Evatt's plans pretty quickly...

Finlay Lockett

The exciting winger has shone for Bolton's development sides for some time now, and he has made the odd appearance for the first-team in the past two years, so he is a name that fans will know. He's also a name that top-flight scouts know, with Wolves linked with the teenager earlier this year.

However, he remains with Bolton and Lockett is still only 18, so it's important that he is managed carefully moving forward, but there's no doubts that he is ready to make an impact.

The pressure of the promotion race means this season will come too soon, but Lockett could have a role to play next season, even if Evatt's men win promotion.

Jay Fitzmartin

Another exciting, creative talent, Fitzmartin has impressed for the development teams as well, with his technique and direct style ensuring he stands out.

The number of options for Evatt in Fitzmartin's position means that he may need to be patient, but once he gets a regular run in the team he has the quality to keep his place in the XI.

He's certainly another exciting youngster that fans will have high hopes for.
