Blackpool are facing a big challenge in the season ahead.

After defying expectations to secure promotion via the League One play-offs the Seasiders will be hoping to make a big impact in the Championship as they battle to avoid the drop.

Neil Critchley will be hoping that his experienced players can lead by example in order to secure their second tier status next term, but it'll also be key to showcase young talent who can show fearlessness when times get tough.

Blackpool have several talented youngsters and here are two who could make a first team breakthrough in the coming season.

Robert Apter

A player who made a real impact after grabbing an assist on his league debut for the club.

The midfielder is only 18 years of age but after making three appearances last term Apter will be hopeful of playing a bigger role at the club next term.

If he can impress in pre-season then we could see him grab another handful of senior appearances for the Seasiders.

Nathan Shaw

Another young talent who will be hoping to kick on next term.

The left winger has spent time on loan with Stockport and AFC Fylde, while also making four appearances for Blackpool's senior side.

At 20 years of age the next 12 months will be key for Shaw as he looks to build a career in the EFL.
