Blackpool have enjoyed a positive start to the season under Simon Grayson and they currently occupy one of the play-off spots after nine games in League One.

The ex-Sunderland boss returned to Bloomfield Road in the summer and he has made an instant impact, with everything seemingly settled around the club after a turbulent few years.

There is a nice balance to the team and they are playing some good football as well as picking up results and for the first time in a long time, the Tangerines boast real strength in depth.

So much so, some players will have to look to leave the club in January on a temporary basis to get regular football.

Here we look at TWO members of the squad that Grayson should look to send out on loan in the New Year...

Nick Anderton

The 23-year-old left-back played 90 minutes against Oxford earlier this season, when the side won, however only one substitute appearance has followed that and he has failed to make the squad in the previous five league outings.

Clearly, he won't be happy with that situation and he may push for another spell away after spending part of last season with Accrington Stanley.

Grayson might feel he needs Anderton as cover but looking at the bigger picture, a loan would help his career and the club may not want to stand in his way if an opportunity comes up.

Nathan Shaw

The 18-year-old winger is a really exciting prospect for the club right now and he has been involved with the first-team squad this season.

Unfortunately for Shaw though, his only actual time on the pitch has come in the Checkatrade Trophy. In fairness, you can understand why though, as Grayson has a lot of senior, quality options out wide to pick from.

So, you can't see the teenager breaking in this season and whilst he will be learning a lot from being around the first-team, game time is what he needs and a loan move could be the making of him as a player.
