AFC Bournemouth are coming up to a crucial stage of their Sky Bet Championship campaign under Scott Parker.

The former Fulham boss has led his side to second place in the league standings so far and will now be looking towards the new year as the January transfer window begins to approach quickly on the horizon.

Of course the Cherries already added several new faces to their squad over the summer, however they could well be tempted to add further depth in key areas as they seek to stay in the race for automatic promotion in the months ahead.

In addition to this they may also have to field interest in their own players from clubs in a higher position than themselves, which means that Parker could have a lot to think about during the upcoming window.

Here, we take you through TWO big transfer decisions that Scott Parker at AFC Bournemouth could need to make in the next few weeks...

Sell Steve Cook?

The Bournemouth captain has been strongly linked with a move to Newcastle United in more recent times, which means that the Cherries boss could have a decision to make over the next few weeks.

Cook has been used sparingly this season due to the form of Gary Cahill and Lloyd Kelly and only recently has had a small run of games under Parker.

Given the fact that his contract is also up at the end of the campaign, the South Coast side could be more keen to move him on if a fee was offered by the Magpies.

There is also an argument that the centre back still has a lot to offer in a Bournemouth shirt, so the club will have a very big decision to make if a bid is forthcoming.

Sign Kelle Roos?

Soccer Football - Championship - West Bromwich Albion v Derby County - The Hawthorns, West Bromwich, Britain - September 14, 2021 Derby County's Kelle Roos celebrates after the match Action Images/Ed Sykes

A player that has been linked with a move to the Vitality Stadium, Roos could be the ideal player to come in and provide some strong competition for Mark Travers between the sticks for the Cherries.

The 29-year-old is set to be out of contract at Derby County come next summer and could well be available for a cut price fee next month.

Given that the Rams are currently in financial turmoil, this could be the perfect time for Bournemouth to capitalise and bring the Dutchman in.

Norwich City and Fulham are also keeping tabs on the shot stopper, so the Cherries will have to move fast if they want to get their man.
