Barnsley's survival hopes have taken a small hit over recent weeks, after frustrating back-t0-back defeats in the Championship.

The Tykes won three games in a row over February which gave them real momentum heading into the final few months of this year's league campaign.

But defeats to both Reading and Cardiff City has seen them slip back into trouble in the second-tier standings, with Gerhard Struber's side now sat bottom of the table, and seven points adrift of safety with just nine games remaining of this season.

It doesn't get any easier for the Tykes either as they prepare to travel to London to take on Mark Warburton's QPR on Saturday afternoon at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

We look at TWO Barnsley players who will be pushing for a recall this weekend when they take on QPR this weekend in what is certain to be a tough test for Gerhard Struber's men.

Mads Juel Andersen

Barnsley have opted to make the bold call in deploying a defensive four in recent games against both Cardiff City which ultimately didn't pay off.

The Tykes were far too open to the Bluebirds counter-attack, which saw Neil Harris' side come away with the three points at Oakwell last weekend.

This could mean that Gerhard Struber is tempted to revert back to the back-five in defence, which could mean that Mads Juel Andersen is in line to come back into the starting XI for this one.

Mike Bahre

Bahre has made 26 appearances for Barnsley this season in all competitions, and his experience certainly will be useful to have in a relatively young squad.

Struber can't rely on young players to get them out of this relegation fight, and Bahre could be one of the players that he counts on ahead of a tough run of fixtures.

He's likely to be in contention to come into the starting XI for the game against QPR, and he'll have to be at the top of his game to nullify the threat posed by the likes of Ebere Eze on the day.
