With sides across the Football League now allowed to engage in transfer business, it will be intriguing to see what approach Barnsley will take when it comes to their recruitment.
Tykes boss Poya Asbaghi may feel as if he has to bolster his squad this month in order to boost the Tykes' chances of retaining their Championship status for another season.
Barnsley could also potentially wave goodbye to some of their players in the coming weeks if they attract interest from elsewhere.
Here, we have decided to take a look at TWO Barnsley players who may be eyeing an exit from the club...
Callum Styles
One of the individuals who may be tempted to move on to pastures new this month is Callum Styles who has recently emerged as a target for Celtic.
According to a report from The Sun, the Scottish side are believed to be keeping tabs on the 21-year-old ahead of a potential swoop.
If Celtic do decide to submit a bid for Styles, he may find it difficult to turn down a move to the club as they will be able to provide him with the opportunity to play in Europe in the coming seasons.
An ever-present in Barnsley's starting eleven this season, Styles has made 22 appearances for his side in the Championship and is currently averaging a respectable WhoScored match rating of 6.61.
Daniel Jinadu
Another player who could be tempted to make an exit from Oakwell this month is goalkeeper Daniel Jinadu.
After joining Barnsley in the summer transfer window, the shot-stopper would have been hoping to force his way into contention for a place in the club's senior squad.
However, due to the presence of Brad Collins, Jinadu has yet to make an appearance in the Championship for the club.
When you consider that he is unlikely to overtake Collins in the pecking order in the coming months, the 19-year-old may find it beneficial to join another club on a temporary basis.
By featuring on a regular basis in a lower division, Jinadu could make considerable strides in terms of his development before returning to Barnsley later this year.
