Barnsley have had an exceptional season in League One, winning promotion at the first time of asking following their relegation last term.

Daniel Stendel, in his first season in English football, has masterminded a campaign that has seen Barnsley overcome the likes of Sunderland and Portsmouth.

The Tykes now must do what they have failed to do in recent years - establish themselves in the Championship.

To do so, they will have to keep on to their star men, which could be hard due to their impressive performances this season.

Nevertheless, they may get some money from selling a couple to invest in the squad.

Here, we look at two of their players who are firmly in the shop window after their eye-catching displays throughout the course of this season.

Do you agree, or is there a player we have missed from our list? Let us know in the comments section below.

Alex Mowatt

After taking the big decision to leave Leeds, Mowatt has excelled, earning a spot in the League One ‘Team of the Season’.

The midfielder is still fairly young, so a move away could be on the cards, with plenty of Championship clubs likely to try and tempt him away from Barnsley.

Liam Lindsay

The 23-year-old centre-back has had a fine year and he surely won't be spending anymore time in the third-tier of English football.

He's ready for Championship football with Barnsley, but he'd improve a lot of second-tier defences.

The future is bright and you couldn't fault sides taking a chance on Lindsay over the course of the summer - he's sure to be on the radar.
