There have been many factors that have contributed to Leeds United’s dip in form in 2018.

Leeds have failed to build on a promising first-half of the season, and heading into the final eight fixtures of the campaign, are heading towards a mid-table finish under Paul Heckingbottom.

The Whites have managed to pick up just one victory since the turn of the year, which left them 14th heading into this week’s international break.

Leeds’ goalkeeping issues have been part of their downfall all season, with the club’s decision to sell Rob Green in the summer backfiring.

Neither Felix Wiedwald nor Andy Lonergan have established themselves since Green’s departure, with Bailey Peacock-Farrell now the man in control of the gloves at Elland Road ahead of the run-in.

With that in mind we take a look at a summer transfer scenario that would revitalise Heckingbottom’s side ahead of the 2018/19 campaign…

Ruddy has been Wolves’ No. 1 this season, with the ex-England goalkeeper key to helping Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to the brink of promotion.

Wolves are expected to spend big once again in the summer, and there is every chance that Nuno will be chasing a new goalkeeper to aid the club in the Premier League.

If Ruddy, 31, looks like he is heading out of Molineux, Leeds should be looking to swoop for the £2.7m-rated goalkeeper.

Lonergan has featured on just seven occasions in the Championship this season and conceded 13 goals.

The goalkeeper has looked vulnerable when handed an opportunity this season, with Peacock-Farrell’s progression pushing him further out of the picture.

Lonergan will surely on the move in the summer.

Wiedwald has been handed two separate chances at Elland Road this season, but hasn’t shown the consistency to establish himself as first choice.

The German has cost Leeds on so many occasions this season, and Heckingbottom has had to pull the goalkeeper from the firing line.

Peacock-Farrell deserves to be installed as second choice at the very least next season, which could lead to Wiedwald’s time at Elland Road coming to an end.
