Jos Luhukay is preparing for his Hillsborough bout this evening, as Sheffield Wednesday take on Carlisle United in their FA Cup third-round replay, after the two sides couldn’t be separated during the original tie.

Wednesday’s boss oversaw Friday’s Steel City derby with Sheffield United, and after a goalless draw, he will be hoping to record his first victory this evening and progress to the fourth-round, where a tie with Stevenage or Reading awaits.

Here at FLW, we take a look at the starting XI Luhukay could select, with the likelihood a similar squad is used to Friday, due to Wednesday’s mounting injury troubles.

Against the Blades, Luhukay opted for a 3-5-2 formation, but tonight, we are expecting to see a back-four ahead of Joe Wildsmith, due to a shortage of available central defenders.

Frederico Venancio should be partnered by Daniel Pudil centrally, whilst Liam Palmer and Morgan Fox line-up on the right and left respectively.

Luhukay could rest Ross Wallace, with £2.7m-rated Jacob Butterfield partnering David Jones in central midfield. Adam Reach should also continue, with George Boyd coming back into the starting XI as he looks for a return to full fitness.

In attack, with injuries again playing a part, Atdhe Nuhiu could partner Lucas Joao.
