It is shaping up into a huge 10 fixtures for Barnsley in the Sky Bet Championship, with the Tykes looking to pull themselves clear of the relegation zone in the coming weeks.

Jose Morais’ side currently sit 21st in the Championship table, hovering narrowly above the bottom three ahead of the run-in.

Over the weekend, Barnsley suffered a 3-1 defeat to Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium, with Tony Pulis’ promotion-chasing outfit denying Morais’ side the opportunity to pull clear of the drop zone.

However, Barnsley still sit two points clear of Birmingham City following the weekend, with the Blues failing to capitalise on an opportunity to close the gap.

The Tykes have a game in hand over Birmingham, which comes tomorrow evening, when they welcome Norwich City to Oakwell.

Here at FLW, we take a look at Morais’ squad and select the starting XI we believe he should field for Norwich’s visit…

Townsend has taken charge of the gloves under Morais and should continue in goal against Norwich, as Barnsley look to bounce back.

Yiadom has fallen out of favour at Oakwell this season, but still has plenty of quality.

Morais must hand the £2.7m-rated defender a recall.

Jackson featured against Boro on Saturday, and although Barnsley conceded on three occasions, some consistency at the back is important.

Lindsay featured alongside Jackson on Saturday, and likewise, he should continue.

Pinillos has featured regularly under Morais and should retain his place at left-back for another fixture.

Gardner is an experienced head at Oakwell, who has seen a lot of the Championship.

His role between now and the end of the season will be a key one.

Morais has discussed Potts returning this week, and if the midfielder is available, he should be straight back in Barnsley’s midfield.

Williams completes a trio in midfield, retaining his place in the starting XI.

Thiam was introduced as a second-half substitute at the Riverside Stadium, but must come back into Morais’ starting XI.

Moore was amongst the goals once again on Saturday and will surely lead the line once again for the Tykes.

McBurnie is looking good in the Championship, and since his arrival at Oakwell has been amongst the goals.

Barnsley’s hopes of survival might rest with the forward.
