Leeds United are set for their biggest test of the Sky Bet Championship season so far this week, when they travel to Wales to face Cardiff City.

Both Leeds and Cardiff have 20 points from their opening nine fixtures, and are leading the way in the Championship along with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Here at FLW, we look at the starting XI Thomas Christiansen should select for Leeds’ trip to Cardiff, with it our belief that he must make changes to the team that beat Ipswich Town on Saturday.

Felix Wiedwald is an automatic choice in goal, whilst we believe that the defence protecting him could do with some fresh blood.

Luke Ayling and Liam Cooper should continue, but Pontus Jansson and Gaetano Berardi must feature, replacing the unlucky Conor Shaughnessy and Vurnon Anita.

It is hard to look past Eunan O’Kane and Kalvin Phillips in central midfield, whilst Samuel Saiz has to feature in the number 10 role.

We believe that away from home Christiansen should not risk Pablo Hernandez and Ezgjan Alioski, particularly after the duo struggled in the wide areas against Millwall recently.

Stuart Dallas and £2.7m-rated Kemar Roofe should come in to replace them.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga is almost certain to continue as the focal point of Leeds’ attack, with the on-loan German looking to add to the three goals he has already scored since his arrival at Elland Road.
