We are yet to see the revolution from Harry Redknapp at Birmingham City, although it is quite early in the summer transfer window, and it is expected the manager will make a lot of changes over the coming months.

He has already tied down a number of players to new deals which will lay the foundations and long-term futures for next season, however, it is signings which will overhaul and change a club's fortunes.

That is why the Blues should acquire Newcastle United's out-of-favour winger Sammy Ameobi, a player who found chances hard to come by in the second-half of the 2016/17 campaign.

The 25-year-old (rated at £2.55m on Transfermarkt) spent the initial six months of the season on loan at League One promotion chasers Bolton Wanderers; despite only scoring twice and providing once, Ameobi still has potential and can easily step up to the plate in the Championship.

Since his return to Newcastle in January, the pacey attacker featured in just 57 minutes of senior football and he'll be getting even less in the Premier League for the Magpies.

The Blues could really do with some speed in their wide positions and with Redknapp's contacts, and presumably, sorting out a deal to bring Sammy Ameobi to the Midlands isn't out of the question.

The positive to this move is that he is out-of-contract on Tyneside which means the Blues won't have to pay a fee, if Newcastle opt against tying him down to a new deal.

For a player of undeniable talent, Redknapp would be foolish to pass this up.
