After a season of mid table obscurity, QPR fans could be forgiven for not getting too excited about the summer ahead.

The influx of trialists over the last couple of weeks has suggested that they'll be looking to bring in younger players to hopefully move them forward, whilst the most experienced heads move on to pastures new.

It isn't a terrible plan, but it may have its flaws. If Ian Holloway does move on too many experienced heads, he might find it tough to replace them like for like. He could end up with an inexperienced side fighting for Championship survival.

Or, he could hit gold, finding a crop of young players with the talent and belief to keep on moving forward. Ebere Eze, Ryan Manning and a host of other young players have done well in recent weeks, couple with the right experienced players they might spring a few surprises next year.

As the season draws to a close, here at FLW we take a look at two players who won't be at QPR next season and two that perhaps might be.

Onuoha has been a seasoned campaigner for Ian Holloway's side, but his days in West London are near the end.

The former Manchester City man joined at the height of their recent success, but has remained at the club as they've slipped back into the second-tier and found a more suitable level for their ambitions.

He's unlikely to be seen in a QPR shirt after next weekend as he seeks a fresh start elsewhere.

Pilkington was linked with QPR in January and despite a decent second half of the season at Cardiff, he could still be on the move.

The 29-year old would bring valuable experience to Loftus Road and could complement the current crop of youngsters nicely. He has a year left of his deal to run though and that late season form will have hiked the price a bit.

Mackie is definitely leaving Loftus Road this season as his second spell at the club draws to a close. He already knows his contract isn't being renewed and that he needs to look elsewhere for first team football.

Mackie has never been prolific, but his constant endeavour and great attitude ensured he received a great send off this weekend and he leaves with the blessing of fans.

£2.25m-rated Dicko was linked with QPR at the start of the season, but ended up at Hull City in the summer. He hasn't been a hit there and with so many forwards leaving Loftus Road, there may be some legs in reviving the deal.

Dicko is thought to have cost around £3.4m, something that may be out of QPR's reach, but after just 7 goals in all competitions there may be a cut-price deal to be had.
