It is shaping up into a huge three months for Bolton Wanderers in the Sky Bet Championship, with Phil Parkinson’s side fighting for survival on their return to the second-tier.

As expected, Bolton are battling to retain their second-tier status this season, a battle that Parkinson’s side are currently winning, with daylight now between themselves and the bottom-three as we head into late February.

Tuesday night’s 1-0 victory over Sunderland boosted Bolton’s survival hopes, with the Trotters moving four points clear of the relegation zone and hauling their opponents into further trouble at the foot of the Championship.

Zach Clough’s first-half goal secured the three points for Bolton, who now turn their attention to Saturday, when the Trotters go up against Norwich City at Carrow Road.

Norwich are amongst the Championship’s form sides at this current time, and will hand Bolton a stern test.

Here at FLW, we take a look at the starting XI we believe Parkinson should select…

A clean sheet against Sunderland on Tuesday will have done Alnwick the world of good, and the goalkeeper will be expected to continue this weekend against Norwich.

Morais featured as a right wing-back on Tuesday evening, and Parkinson is likely to trust him with that role once again this weekend.

Beevers has been a regular under Parkinson this season, making 34 appearances for Bolton.

The defender should once again feature at Carrow Road.

Wheater is arguably Bolton’s most important player, and the defender’s experience during the run-in will be key to Bolton’s hopes of survival.

Dervite featured alongside Beevers and Wheater on Tuesday evening, and it would be a surprise to see Parkinson move away from that trio heading to Norwich.

Taylor flanked Bolton’s defensive unit from the left on Tuesday, and after that five-man unit recorded a clean sheet, it will be hard for Parkinson to make changes.

Ameobi is a real threat in the Championship, with the winger’s trickery sure to be a useful weapon at Carrow Road this weekend.

Karacan continues to impress in central midfield for Bolton, and is proving to be a really reliable figure for Parkinson.

Pratley has been absent through injury in recent weeks, but with confirmation he is edging closer to a return, he could come straight back into the starting XI.

Injuries and suspensions are building up in central midfield and Parkinson could be forced to rush Pratley back.

Tuesday night’s hero continues on the left of midfield, with a huge role to play at Carrow Road.

£2.25m-rated Clough is a real talent, and Bolton’s chances of success at Norwich perhaps rest on his shoulders.

Bolton have moved to sign Jan Kirchhoff this week, but Wilbraham put in a useful shift against Sunderland last time out and will be confident of retaining his place in the starting XI.
