A third managerial tenure of the season starts tonight for Birmingham City as they take on Middlesbrough.

It's been a roller-coaster ride for the Blues this year with them struggling for form despite a number of big names in their squad and the likes of Harry Redknapp in charge.

Despite all of that, though, they remain in the relegation picture and now it is down to Garry Monk to try and steer them out of trouble.

Funnily enough, his first game comes up against one of his former clubs and, indeed, his last employer in Middlesbrough and so he'd surely like to get a win over them.

Kick-off is just hours away now, then, and so let's take a look at the XI we think he should play...

David Stockdale will surely remain in goal for this one.

Carl Jenkinson will be asked to get forward as much as possible under Monk.

Michael Morrison will aim to rally the side as they aim to get back on track.

Harlee Dean should also keep his spot under Monk and will look to impress the former defender.

Maxime Colin, like Jenkinson, will be asked to bomb on when he can.

Kieftenbeld is going to prove a vital component in the Blues' fight for survival.

Gardner could also feature if David Davis is deemed to not be ready.

£2.25m-rated Che Adams could be one man who flourishes under Monk's tutelage.

Jota hasn't had a good season but this new start could give him fresh impetus.

Boga is another young player who could seriously benefit from the new man in charge.

Gallagher has had an okay season and Monk should like playing him as he is a central focus to the attack.
